Programming, school, and whatever else I feel like
a lot harder than I bargained for

I have been developing a Java application for use on cell phones. Today I attempted to install my program onto a cell phone (a Motorola RAZR).

I plugged the phone in to my computer, but no drivers were found for it. I searched on the internet for drivers, found nothing useful on Motorola's website, and eventually had to settle for a link I found on a forum. Turns out the only thing the driver does is charge your cell phone.

I spent roughly an hour scouring the internet for clues on how to install an application onto a cell phone from my laptop, but got nowhere.

Does anyone here know how to install applications on cell phones? Any advice would be appreciated.

I know that there is an application called "Motorola Phone Tools" that works with almost all Motorola phones and comes with drivers for them. It is not free, however. Right now, the cost of the appilcation is $29.90 and can be purchased at Link. I don't know if you were willing to put money in it, but I have used Phone Tools before and it is a great program for people with Motorola phones. Also, I am not sure if you have heard of it before, but Link is a great mobile phone resource. Good luck!

I do not know for sure whether 3rd party PC softwares are available for Motorola Phones, but I can assure u there are plenty available for SE phones. Installing Java GAmes and Applications in SE phones are pretty easy with these softwares. You may try out Mobledit from www.mobledit.com. They have support for various phone models including the Motorola V Series. Find out from their website whether ur phone is supported. However I cannot say for sure whether the software allows Java uploads and downloads to the phone. Good Luck !!
